She reached home and took her shoes off at the front door. She dropped her keys, tossed her clutch on the couch, and made her way towards the bathroom. She got undressed, and turned on the shower. The steam turn her bathroom into her personal sauna. The water ran over her head, down her face, while tears slid down her cheek.
“Forgive me Lord.” She said.
The phone rang. It was an unknown number. It was 6:00 am, she was tired, and she did’t feel like dealing with telemarketers. She turned her phone off, jumped into bed and sank into her fluffy pillows. She rocked herself to sleep, thinking of the things she wished she said to the man who turned a one night stand into regret.
It was 2:00 pm when she finally woke up. While she was checking her messages her phone rang with the same unknown number.
“Hello,” she said.
“Hello?” she said again.
“Listen, I just wanted to say it wasn’t cool the way things ended this morning,” a male voice said.
She looked at her phone. Laughed out loud, as she remembered that she gave her number to him before he’d left the party. He seemed to be in a rushed, but she managed to slip her number to him. At that time she thought to herself who ever he’s rushing to, could not be important because she stop him in his tracks. It did not take long before she realized she was right. She came out to get some air and to her surprise he was standing by the door with a sexy smile. They talked. Now he’s calling after acting like a dog.
“You’ve got to be crazy.” She said.
She hung up the phone, and tossed it on the bed. Then she picked the phone up and texted him…
“No explanation needed. And don’t call me again.”
