The Madness Made Me Do it
I sat in my car.
Turned the volume up.
I took a deep breath.
Closed my eyes.
As I listened to a story told by the dramatic yet romantic male voice, it soothed my soul.
I checked for the time.
I had 5 minutes to go.
His deep voice that whispered sweet nothings, gave me comfort.
He said the nicest things about his love.
Reminded me when I was loved.
I realized I had to go. But I was not sure where to run to.
Another look at the time, I only had 1 minute to make up my mind.
With 50 seconds left. I turned off my comfort.
I took another deep breath.
As I got out of my car, my heart skipped.
I just can’t take it when he’s angry.
He punches things.
He says things like, “the madness made me do it.”
“YOU MADE ME DO IT!”
Oh dear God, give me 5 more minutes.
