Let’s face it, we are in a world where everyone expects instant gratification. We’ve developed this sense of urgency to be the fastest, have it first, to do more with less. But in our hustle and bustle, we forget the value of time well spent.
However, it’s in those long days and late nights, I can create some of my best work. And it’s after I take the time to soak it all in, I realize I need to do more. Or to do less. I become a perfectionist. I pay attention. Getting the finest details to stand out.
That’s when I am the proudest of my work. And when I notice others are more in-tune with my work. So I have to remind myself, don’t rush it. Quality takes time. And so I should take the time to make quality. Which makes me value others who do the same.
Recently JORD WATCH reached out to me to get my opinion on their wood watches. So, I checked out their website, picked a watch I liked and did some homework. They explain their journey as, “…days creating, considering, arguing, and hopefully agreeing.” Only for them to “scrap it all for the joy of starting new.” Now that takes time. And I must say their attention to details shows it.
I wore the watch for a couple of weeks to get a feel for their Frankie Series: Purpleheart & Plum watch. Here’s what I thought.
It’s different from most watches. It’s made of 100% wood. Although wood usually doesn’t scream elegance. JORD WATCH has handcrafted style comparable to other stylish watches on today’s market.
It’s a statement piece. Even if you’re not into wearing watches to tell the time. It can be an enhancement to any wardrobe. I choose the Purpleheart, Frankie series. It’s rich plum color, big-face, and roman numerals got my attention. It’s a perfect combination of classy and casual.
Even the packaging is chic and functional. It’s a wood box, of course. The top slides out. Allowing you to peek inside at the watch that’s resting on a slight firm pillow. All stamped and approved with JORD logo. The package becomes a perfect way to store your watch and help maintain its flawless look.
The wood box also came with 2 extra wood-links in different lengths for your band. Although I didn’t need it, the custom fit was perfect. It’s nice to know if I wanted to change it up I can at any time.
It’s light and durable. Most of the time I don’t wear things on my arm. I don’t need my arms feeling weigh down. This was not the case, with this watch. Once I put it on I didn’t think about it again, unless I found someone checking it out my wrist. Also, I can be a girly girl who loves girly things. However, I have a streak of tomboy in me. So the jewelry I wear must be able to handle me being me. Just ask my husband, he’s learned not to get me anything fragile.
And last but not least, there’s an automatic one-year warranty.
Honestly, I only found one possible issue. Because it’s made out of 100% wood, humidity and change of temperature can swell or shrink the wood. This can cause the wood to crack. So, you have to be careful not to leave the watch in extreme weather conditions like an overheated car. But, they do provide a guide on their website on how to care and maintain your watch.
So there you have it. I think the watch is pretty awesome. Especially if you’re looking for something unique and of quality. If you are interested in getting your own, you should try singing up to their GIVEAWAY exclusive to my readers.
